My
Excellent American Adventure |
Since
being infected by the travel bug in my
native New Zealand, this appalling
and incurable affliction has dragged me kicking and screaming to Australia,
Belize,
Brunei,
Canada, Costa Rica, the
Czech Republic, Egypt, Fiji,
Guatemala,
Indonesia,
Japan,
Malaysia, Mexico,
the
Philippines,
Russia,
Singapore, the Solomon Islands,
Thailand,
Trinidad
and Tobago,
Turkey,
the
United Kingdom, the United States, Vanuatu
and Vietnam. |
Since
moving from New Zealand to the United States in 1997, I've spent time in
some of America's largest cities -
San Diego, Washington DC, Chicago,
New
York and San Francisco, and visited a few of its
most interesting places, like Niagara
Falls and Hawaii.
I've experienced life in the USA and
some of its seasons and celebrations,
as well as the worst that the American climate could throw at me - 125
degree temperatures in the Californian desert, the second heaviest snowfall
ever in Chicago, and the worst
flooding in New Jersey for 200 years. |
Aviation |
Life
on Earth |
Military
aircraft combine the best of man's ingenuity with the worst of our violent
insanity. See the power and beauty of both civil aircraft and
"warbirds" in action at airshows
and other aviation events, as well
as more sedate historical relics at aircraft
and military museums in Australia, the Czech Republic, Egypt,
Japan,
New Zealand,
Russia,
the
United Kingdom, the United States and Vietnam. |
At
home and around the world, I love to take photos of birds,
the
underwater world, reptiles,
insects,
spiders and other arthropods and fungi.
You'll find many of these photos in the "travel" and "American" parts of
the website, or you can go straight to this section of the website to see
some of these colorful and remarkable fellow inhabitants of our planet
in their natural habitats. |
