Fall Foliage at the Lakes of the Delaware Water Gap

One of the first lakes on the drive through the New Jersey side of the Delaware Water Gap park is called Watergate.

Like its infamous namesake, this is a place you might like to avoid.   It has a fairly hefty usage fee, large sterile grassed areas and a lack of the spectacular foliage that people come to see.

The next lake along the ridge road is much better.  Blue Mountain Lake provides lots of opportunities for leaf peepers, fishers and walkers.

Crater Lake is at the end of the road.  Again, it offers great opportunities to stand around...
